With unspoiled nature, Bocas del Toro is a true jewel of the Caribbean. Spread over 400 km², it is one of the 3 main archipelagos that make up Panama.

Its main islands are: Isla Colon, Isla Solarte, Isla San Cristobal, Isla Pastores, Isla Zapatillas, Isla Loma Partida, Isla Popa, Cayo Roldan, Cayo Agua and Isla Bastimentos. The latter hosts a 13,000 hectare National Marine Park.

This archipelago offers lovers of wild nature white sand beaches, turquoise waters, colorful reefs, waves popular with surfers around the world, fishing areas, diving spots, mangroves and tropical forests.

It is the homeland of sloths, howler monkeys, endemic frogs, raccoons, ocelots, panthers, parrots, toucans … The diversity of exotic animals, birds, aquatic fauna and corals is impressive and is found in few places in the world.

In this vast paradise are 5 magnificent beaches not to be missed. Here they are :

1. Playa Zapatilla

Playa Zapatilla is located on one of the two wild and protected islands of Cayo Zapatilla. Surrounded by a coral reef, they are renowned for the beauty of their white sand beaches and turquoise water.

They bathe in shallow crystal clear waters and therefore ideal for snorkeling. From the beach, there are two small islets in the lagoon with palm trees to complete the decor.

It is possible to take a day trip with a local agency in the village (there is no hotel on the island). We can also organize a day trip for you to discover these islands.
